Thakur's Vedic Ideals
- Thakur's Vedic Ideals are based on science, logic, mathematics and tune. He is trying to awaken the inner consciousness of the people, liberating them from superstition and dogma.
- Thakur says that no one is entitled to claim any credit for any invention here. We are all carrier and propagator of the universal truth. Like sun, moon, planets and stars, we are all workers of this great universe.
- Just as the tape recorder is not the singer, we are also not the discoverer of anything. Everything exists here for a purpose. We are a part of the tune of the eternal music and flowing with it.
- Our desire to reveal Nature's truth is also Nature's inherent gift because the object of Nature is to express and reveal her eternal tune to all.
What the Vedas Declare...
- In the Vedic times, each and everybody, be he king or a subject, rich or poor, were associated with the profession of agriculture. Agriculture used to be considered as a holy profession in Vedic period.
- Vedas declared that not a single soul must pass a day without food. There must not be beggary in society. In Vedic age, perfect order was maintained for an equitable food distribution system.
- In the Vedic age, there was no hoarding of food items or anything. The Vedas declared hoarders as evil-doers. They were termed as exploiters and the people were ordered to fight against such evil doers.
- The great knowledge within the great space are the Vedas.
About Egalitarian Vedic Society
- Our Universe is created in harmony. The created matters of the universe are, therefore, ingrained in harmony and balance. We must follow this great example of equality and egalitarianism in our society. This is the foundation of a classless Vedic Society that once existed in ancient India.
- Twenty-five thousand years ago, there were no gods or goddesses. But there was a classless and transparent society founded on the principles of harmony, equality, relationship, non-violence, justice and liberty for all, social values, obligations and duties. People even did not know about crimes, dishonesty and lies.
-
The concept of Vedic Society is based on these principles of harmony, equity and balance. That was a golden age.
-
The essence of the teaching of Vedas is equal right, not only for human beings, but for all creatures of the planet. Even the tiniest of the creature should not be deprived of its rights.
-
The Vedic concept of equal distribution of wealth does not mean that social wealth is arithmetically divided equally amongst the people. It means distribution to each according to his or her needs. There is enough in the nature for man's need, but not for his greed.
-
In a Vedic society not a single soul passes a day without food. There must not be poverty and beggary in the society.
-
In our scriptures, there are ample references to revolution. Lord Mahadeva with his 'trident', Goddess Durga with 'scimetre', Lord Vishnu with a 1 club', Lord Krishna with 'discus', Lord Rama with 'bow & arrow' are glaring examples of war against evil and injustice.
-
All these weapons were not used for killings but for subjugation of the evil-doers and establishment of Dharma or Religion in the society.
- The earth on which we live does not admit of any differences or divisions. The world is one family.
- There is no real difference between the 'knowledge of the vedic age' and 'science of this age'. One is the formula and the other is its application.Religion and science are two sides of the same coin.
- Modern science is confirming the ancient discoveries, such as powers of Yoga, meditation, family values, etc. Several practices that were limited within India have now been out before the whole world.
- The principles on which Indian Vedic Society existed in the past will also spread all over the world. Only then, all the problems will be solved.
- The travesties of truth going on in the name of present-day religion, education and politics are the main impediments to establishment of Vedic Society.
- In Vedic Age, the workers and peasants were given the top-most status in society. Dignity of labour and work was always recognised.
- Vedic way of life is for construction and not destruction of the society.
- In order to get there, we need mass awareness and revolution to resurrect the society.
- Spirit of co-operation, co-existence and selfless service pervades throughout the universe and is the essence of Vedic Society.
- If every one of the living being lives in harmony on the principle of sharing, the real tune of the Vedas will be resurrected, true ethics of equality will develop and Vedic Society will be reestablished.
- The fundamental principles of Vedic Society lie in service to others, devotion to work, maintenance of order, harmony and spirit of coexistence. Whereas today, class distinction, caste discrimination, tendency to dominate others, hoarding to serve individual self-interest, etc. have become order of the day.
- Is it possible to have such a society today? Yes, if people realize the real significance of all religions, gods and goddesses and stop trading in the name of religion.
- A country is to be treated as a sacred trust, and its government as the trustees. The ownership of a country vest with its people, and not with its government. The society should be guided not by changeable laws, but by universal principles of justice, morality and laws of nature. The nation should be treated as a big joint family.
