Thakur's Vedic Ideals

  1. Thakur's Vedic Ideals are based on science, logic, mathematics and tune. He is trying to awaken the inner consciousness of the people, liberating them from superstition and dogma.
  2. Thakur says that no one is entitled to claim any credit for any invention here. We are all carrier and propagator of the universal truth. Like sun, moon, planets and stars, we are all workers of this great universe.
  3. Just as the tape recorder is not the singer, we are also not the discoverer of anything. Everything exists here for a purpose. We are a part of the tune of the eternal music and flowing with it.
  4. Our desire to reveal Nature's truth is also Nature's inherent gift because the object of Nature is to express and reveal her eternal tune to all.

What the Vedas Declare...

  1. In the Vedic times, each and everybody, be he king or a subject, rich or poor, were associated with the profession of agriculture. Agriculture used to be considered as a holy profession in Vedic period.
  2. Vedas declared that not a single soul must pass a day without food. There must not be beggary in society. In Vedic age, perfect order was maintained for an equitable food distribution system.
  3. In the Vedic age, there was no hoarding of food items or anything. The Vedas declared hoarders as evil-doers. They were termed as exploiters and the people were ordered to fight against such evil doers.
  4. The great knowledge within the great space are the Vedas.

Sound of Mantra (Sacred Words)

  1. A phonetic analogy may be traced out between different words of different languages, because the genetics of the instinctive sounds are derived from the same Universal Tune of the creation.
  2. Remember that all creatures have equally contributed to the genesis of language. The sounds of cries of different animals and birds have individually influenced and caused transformation and development of languages in the world.
  3. The sound of the winds, the thunder of the clouds, the roar of the seas, etc. have also contributed towards the building of the languages. Similarly, the pointing of the fingers, winking of the eyes, movement of hands, feet, and other limbs, have all influenced the building up of languages.
  4. Even today, you will find in the books for children that portraits of animals or creatures are displayed in setting and arranging the alphabets and numbers for quick grasping. This indicates how alphabets sprung from the sounds and movements of creatures.
  5. One can easily perceive that all the objects of universe are knit together by finer chords of symphony. The more one is able to take the harmonious tune into one's writing or other works of art, the finer and more skilful an artist becomes.
  6. The different objects and creatures of the nature are alphabets of the Book Of Nature. Diversity and contrasts in their functioning exist for convenience of our learning. The ancient sages and ascetics spent their lives to study these alphabets of the Book of Nature.
  7. Just as different subject matters are covered in different chapters of a book, the different objects of Nature form different chapters of the Original Vedas. Hence, the Original Vedas are not born out of imagination but are research-based, nature-born, analytical, scientific, logical and realistic.
  8. The infinite universe has one sound from which flows all other sound. This fundamental sound or tune is firmly installed in every living being. Sound is creation and Creation is Sound. The action and reaction of sound and matter is the essence of Creation.
  9. Everything in this world originates from sound. To see a flower or to hear the roaring of the clouds, are the same. Not only our mouth, but all our sense organs speak. We express different thoughts and feelings through speech, look, touch or through written communication. All of this involves use of sound. Sound gets manifested in different forms. These different forms of sound are nothing but manifestation of that Eternal Sound.
  10. We are all absorbed in "Sound" and are the manifestation of Sound. Creator has made all these formulae. Every one follows them as a natural course. In this process of going deeper and deeper lies the expression of one's Ego and therein gets the manifestation of greatness of the Creator.
  11. When a Guru imparts Mantra or the elementary word or sound into one's ear, it begins procreation. The act of repetition vibrates through the glands and cells of the body which activates them. In this way begins new revelations day by day.
  12. Guru is meant for taking the people to the Path of Realisation of the purpose of this Creation. "Mantra" given by the Guru to His disciples is the vehicle on this path.
  13. A Guru, who is born with supreme consciousness of the Universal Tune, circulates the necessary energy or force in His disciples through His Mantra, although His Mantra may be composed of ordinary words prevalent here.
  14. "Mantra" by itself does not have any force or speed. It is the Guru who adds the required force or speed to it for His disciples.
  15. Mantra is akin to a seed which blossoms into various colours and forms with constant repetition. One should always remember the Giver of the Mantra and the Mantra. To meditate on the image of the Guru, to think of Him or to repeat the given Mantra, all carry the same force.
  16. The Guru also takes the responsibility if anyone remembers Him instead of reciting the Mantras. Through the practice of repeating the Mantra, all the sounds and words of the Universe are revealed.
  17. Mantra is like the "common seal" of a business enterprise or of the government. When this seal is put by an authorised person on a document, everyone will obey the terms and conditions. Mantra is the stamp of Universal Truth granted by the Guru to His disciples. It cannot be stolen or destroyed. It cannot be bought or sold. It is a personal asset of the recipient.
  18. One who has within him this Universal Seal or Stamp has everything in his possession. His soul and consciousness becomes one and indivisible. That Seal makes everything easy and accessible. Those who remain absorbed in repeating Guru's Mantra make their way to knowledge easy and unhindered.
  19. The Universal Tune or Nada or Primordial Sound is flowing to eternity whether any one repeats it secretly or subconsciously. It follows its own course. The sound from which Universe has sprung and the sound from which we have sprung, is the same.
  20. That is why the Vedas prescribe use of Mantras as a means of emancipation. The impossible can be made possible, and the object aimed at can be brought under control through the power of incantation, The Vedic sages and seers termed incantation power as the force of one's power of concentration.
  21. The term "Mantra" is derived from the word "Man" which means mind or thoughts directed inwardly. As the king is guided by the advice of his ministers, so everything can be guided by the thought process. The precise meaning of Mantra is "Churning of the Mind". Unfortunately today the real significance of Mantra has shrunk because of perversion.
  22. Whenever our mind ascends up to a higher thought, the atomic particles with which we are composed of also attain that measure and the whole atomic sphere is surcharged.
  23. The Mind is akin to a Lens, through which the power of the Universe is focused. We symbolize or represent the universe in its entirety. Everything can be made possible if we can identity and attune our mind with the Universal Mind.
  24. Over time, human beings have forgotten their real identity which was once mingled and merged in the Supreme Reality or Brahma. Just as a lion when pent up with a flock of sheep loses its identity, so are the human beings. But the taste of a drop of blood will rouse the lion in the human beings. This drop of blood is the Primordial Sound or the Mantra.
Sri Sri Thakur in a lighter moment.
  1. Nothing in this universe is static. Speed or motion is there in everything, be it a static thing or anything. What we see as stationary is illusionary. The composite whole of Brahma is speed or energy or sound embodied, formed out of the very conscious elements, i.e. Self-Conscious Being.
  2. Speed or Motion or Sound depends entirely on the existence of "Void". If we go on searching the origin of an atom or any matter from its subtle to subtler stages, it will lead us to Void. If we search ourselves within, it will also lead us to a state of Nothingness or Void. If one meditates on this Great Void, it will lead to enlightenment. Because this Great Void is full of consciousness.
  3. Nature's greatest gift is the Inner Voice or Conscience. This Inner Voice or Conscience warns each one of us when we try to do anything wrong. But most often, we pay no heed to its directions. It is not given the importance it deserves in our day to day activity.
  4. Our Supreme Deity is our Inner Voice or Conscience. It guides us every moment. It gives us light and direction on the path. It is our Spiritual Guide. We must meditate on our Inner Voice and follow its directions.
  5. Lord Chaitanya preached Nama Kirtan (i.e. chanting of holy syllables) consisting of sixteen names and thirty-two letters, namely Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna, Krishna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.
  6. By uttering these Names and stretching His two hands towards the sky Lord Chaitanya drew everybody near Him irrespective of caste and creed. His mission was to preach the essence of Vedas and Vedic Communism. Through the Bhakti Cult (i.e. the path of devotion) Lord Chaitanya sowed the seed of spiritual knowledge generally into the people.
  7. The objective of this practice of group chanting or Nama Kirtan is that all people, irrespective of their caste or religion, rich or poor, get equal right to this Nama. In this way all are brought on the same platform through the Nama.
  8. The powers of the Infinite Universe will manifest automatically through the constant chanting of the Nama and Japa. Such is the power of Mantra.
  9. By constant chanting of Guru given Nama and Japa through a little practice, one can become spiritually enlightened in no time.
  10. Group Chanting or Kirtan promotes the feeling of brotherhood and goodwill amongst people. It helps in realising and spreading the Universal Tune of unity and harmony amongst one and ail. It helps in bringing people from different walks of life into one channel. That is the fundamental purpose of Naam.
  11. Various distractions come in the way of meditation in the beginning. One should ignore them. Recapitulation of one's Mantra willingly or unwillingly will produce results. Remember the benign love of Guru to tide over difficulties and obstacles in this path of realisation.
