Thakur's Vedic Ideals
- Thakur's Vedic Ideals are based on science, logic, mathematics and tune. He is trying to awaken the inner consciousness of the people, liberating them from superstition and dogma.
- Thakur says that no one is entitled to claim any credit for any invention here. We are all carrier and propagator of the universal truth. Like sun, moon, planets and stars, we are all workers of this great universe.
- Just as the tape recorder is not the singer, we are also not the discoverer of anything. Everything exists here for a purpose. We are a part of the tune of the eternal music and flowing with it.
- Our desire to reveal Nature's truth is also Nature's inherent gift because the object of Nature is to express and reveal her eternal tune to all.
What the Vedas Declare...
- In the Vedic times, each and everybody, be he king or a subject, rich or poor, were associated with the profession of agriculture. Agriculture used to be considered as a holy profession in Vedic period.
- Vedas declared that not a single soul must pass a day without food. There must not be beggary in society. In Vedic age, perfect order was maintained for an equitable food distribution system.
- In the Vedic age, there was no hoarding of food items or anything. The Vedas declared hoarders as evil-doers. They were termed as exploiters and the people were ordered to fight against such evil doers.
- The great knowledge within the great space are the Vedas.
The Great Void is Consciousness
-
Super-conscious being is the source of our consciousness. But super-conscious is not traceable. He remains hidden. All our search for him ends in nothing. All paths lead us to a void.
-
Vedas relate to knowledge of the matter and substances of the Great Void. This knowledge is "Tattwa" (Theory of knowledge or eternal principles).
-
When we enter into the reality of Tattwa we seem to lose everything and fall into one Great Void. This Great Void is a reservoir of Supreme Consciousness.
-
In that Void, the existence of all matters assumes a state of nothingness, and finally a feeling of nothingness springs from within. The state of "Being" on probe gets into a state of "Nothingness" and the state of "Nothingness" into that of "Being". -
What is the source of this infinite Void? Who created it? Who can create a Void? It has no beginning or end. It is eternal.
-
We are all born of the Void, roaming in the Void, and will one day become one with the Void. Aren't we marching towards the Void?
-
As a matter of fact, none of us have really come to this earth. The reason is not far to seek. None of the object in this earth can be traced to its origin. The more we search, the more we get lost in a void. At last, we find that we cannot even trace ourselves. So is our coming to this earth a real coming? Do we really exist here? If we cannot trace ourselves, then who exists?
-
Take for instance a sound wave. If you turn on the radio, you listen to someone speaking from a foreign country. But he has not come to your place. You cannot meet him though you can listen to him. His voice reaches you but not the man himself. Similarly, this living world is a sort sound wave. What you see is only sound wave.
- Therefore, sound is inseparably associated with the cosmic universe. In every matter, there is a sound wave, a sound vibration, manifesting itself as a result of friction, and that indicates the materiality of the matter. That is why every matter is also related with each other.
-
The Great Void is such a mirror that admits of both states of being and nothingness. Both faces are seen in the reflection.
-
In this Void, there is no high or low, rise or fall. There is only one direction. We all are moving in that one direction with full velocity. This motion is life.
-
In this Great Void, all the planets and stars are held by the cosmic principle of balance.
-
The vast blue sky, a color when searched is found missing, yet that color absorbs all other colors.
- Our body, mind, intellect, and reason are all as comprehensive as the sky and all these too are held in the same very sky.
-
We are all running towards the great void all the time. We are all pilgrims of the Void.
-
Life has originated from the Void and wandering in the Void. The Sun, the moon and all celestial bodies are wandering in the Void. This Universal Void helps us to understand the matter and manifestation of its existence.
-
The earth is rotating along its own orbit in its own tune and rhythm.Owing to this movement of the earth, we all are able to hear, touch, and feel things.
-
Nature is constantly reminding us that there was a time when everyone of us, in our subtle form, was mingled up in the sky, in the air, in the cloud and in the sun. Our body is composed of subtle particles of super-conscious substance. We have come to our present state through a long process of intermingling of elements.
-
Just as in a gramophone record, we cannot make out the existence of music in it unless the record is pricked with a pin. we are unable to hear the music of this Vast Nature in our body instrument unless we dwell deep into it.
-
The music of the Nature is recorded in our body. The Vast Universe is also functioning like a body. The creator is not there, but His music is there.
-
What is materially void is actually spiritually full. Innumerable void-like spiritual atoms exist eternally. All these super-conscious atoms are linked with natural elements constituting the sun, the moon, the planets, the satellites, air and light, and life.
-
If you think deeply, all the outward development, advancement, inventions, discoveries, theories and research have not made us any better than what we were thousand of years ago for the simple reason that we have not been able to know anything concrete about ourselves. We do not know why are we born, where are we going and what is the purpose of this creation.
-
The cow eats grass and gives us milk, and we get butter by churning milk. But we cannot get milk directly from the grass. Bees get honey from flowers, but we get only a bitter taste from flowers. Again, grass, flowers and plants come out of earth, and earth comes out of water, water from air, and air from the vast sky.
-
We are still in that state of Void as we were thousand of years ago. Are we all moving with a defeated aim, toiling hard for nothing?
-
Our mind is a gift of nature. In our mind lies the infiniteness of space.
-
That we can think, is itself a miracle. Creation springs out of thought. Are we not rushing always to complete the "incomplete" Think. The demands of our sense organs make us to run. The organs of our body follow our Mind that drives our body.
- We have sprung out of plants, water, air, light, food, cereals, fruits and vegetables. Then blood, semen, fat, marrow has been produced in our body.
-
When you search for the "I" - our identity - it is not to be found. Where are we then?
- The Great Void or Space itself is the Krishna of the Gita. Krishna is the Great Space that is beyond all description. Krishna means something that has no limit, no dimension, no language to describe its state. He exists in the vast skies. He exists in the firmament of our Mind.
-

Sri Sri Thakur at a meeting We are all progressing at a rapid pace, changing from state to state, form to form, amidst the cycle of transformation, gathering knowledge of the already known. -
Where mind, intellect, knowledge and love reign, Krishna lives therein. The continual flow or Radha is His symbol. Radha means "Dhara" or flow or motion. If you repeat the word "Dhara", you will hear the word "Radha". The communion of Radha and Krishna is the communion of Prakriti and Purush, which is the same as the communion of Shiva and Shakti. This union is continually going on in every one of this living world.
-
The love between Guru and His disciple, and its tunes are themselves the tune of communion of Radha-Krishna or Prakriti-Purush.
-
Where mind, intellect and knowledge combine, there is the Third Eye of conception, and there is the confluence of Tribeni. Krishna is great, so are we too. We all dwell amidst the Great and are permanently connected to the Great.
-
The Great Void is not an object to acquire, so also the Great Creator or Worker cannot be visualised as on object.
- The Great Space itself is the source of the earth, water, fire, air and void. These five elements are cosmic workers of the Nature. They and other innumerable workers in the Great Space are working in that manner tirelessly and selflessly. Their contribution and ceaseless service are essential for the creation and sustenance of the animate world.
-
Our physical body, mind, intellect, conscience, etc. are all products of these five elementary objects of the Great Space. They are our true ancestors.
-
Had we followed these Universal Workers, our true Ancestors, and devoted ourselves to the service of others with their angle of vision, selflessness and continuity, the present dismal state of our society would not have persisted.
-
Like the Eternal Workers of the Great Firmament, we shall remain strung, tuned and tied to the same tune amongst ourselves. The Sun, the moon and the stars are all Eternal Workers. The Sun is the great father.
-
The Sun's seven colours in the shape of the Rainbow is our inspiration to develop our creative faculties. The seven notes of music too come from the seven colours of the Sun's Spectrum.
-
The Laws of creation revolve around tune and song. Every moment the Universe is resounding with melody. This stream of melody is without any beginning or end. In the endless Universe, the final note is beyond any comprehension.
-
Oh Traveller of the Great Space! Can you not hear the footsteps of death in your life's journey- The same infinite tune plays in birth or in death!
-
Meditation on this eternal tune is the real meditation.
-
The very existence of the Great Motion or Speed is due to the existence of the Great Void. Speed is there even when a mass of anything remains in a static condition or at rest.
-
Both potential and kinetic energies are there as everything is destined to decay. Anything that can decay or suffer change has got life and energy.
-
The solid mass of anything is nothing but the vibration of electrons and further probe into it will lead to empty space. Thus substantial matter ceases to have any substance in it and thus get reduced to nothingness or void.
-
All matter as we see, is nothing but the outward manifestation of energy or eternal motion or sound embodied.
- Since we have our existence, and it cannot be ruled out as unreal, this Universe can be regarded as the representative of the Great Void or Nothingness.
-

Sri Sri Thakur in his lighter moments Each of the atoms, electrons or sub-electrons, has got life, mind, consciousness and everything. -
Human mind serves the purpose of a Lens through which the power of the Universe is focused.
-
Our existence is nothing but the tune of matter's non-materiality and again it is not divorced from consciousness. Our mind and the Universal Mind are basically the same. The Universe is more like a great thought than like a great machine.
-
Nothing in this universe is static. Speed or motion is there in everything. Speed and motion depend entirely on the existence of Void.
-
The infinite Universe has one sound. That sound, when split up in innumerable sounds, gives birth to thousands of different languages. Animals have thousands of languages or sounds. The origin of all mantras is the Prime Ordeal Sound.
-
This eternal tune or sound is to be found in our body. Our duty is to get this body-instrument properly tuned. When you will play on your body-instrument, the mystery of the universe will then be unfolded to you.
-
Even during sleep, our mind works and remains in constant motion that cause a sort of sound or vibration. The Sound from which these creations sprang up and that of yours are the same, and you will have yourself identified with that of universal tune thus experiencing the universal self.
-
Hence the importance of "Guru Mantra". Those who remain absorbed in repeating "mantra" will have their way to knowledge, easy and unhindered.
- Let it be understood that this 'Sound original" (or "nada") is flowing to eternity and whether anyone repeats it secretly or subconsciously, it does not matter.
-
The great sense of Cosmic Void exists in all. It will mature into flowers and fruits one day in all.
-
The seed you sowed, the very same seed grows out towards the Great Void bearing flowers and fruits. When it reaches its limit, it turns into seed again. This limitless travel, seed to flower to fruit to seed, has no beginning or end.
-
The Great Void, from which we have been created, is not just an empty space. It is full of sense, a great sense. From this sense emerge supreme consciousness.
-
Awakened by this Supreme Consciousness, living creatures understand everything.
-
The great void is so conscious that even the pores of the skin are not without a purpose. Everything has been created with minutest detail.
-
Out of the infinite void come the creation, unto it its dissolution too. But no amount of quest will ever give a clue of Him who sustains everything in the universe. He remains merged with the great void as nothingness. That is why, even amongst us, the entity that sees and listens cannot be traced.
-
A piece of stone is not our God. God is like the deep blue space. His identity lies in intangibility amongst the tangibles. He is everywhere and when searched appears no where.
-
A glaring example of the Void is the ocean. We see and pass by so many things on either side when we travel along the canal. But when we reach the river, we have to crane our necks to see things on the banks. Crossing rivers after rivers when we finally reach the ocean, we see only water and water everywhere. It seems the ocean and the skies meet together on the horizon. It only seems a vast expanse of Void.
-
Take this great void as an ocean of milk in which we are all floating like chunks of butter. Ice floats on sea water itself. We are floating like ice on the sea. There is really no difference between ice and water and yet there is a difference in shape. But water and ice bear the same tune
-
We are floating in the great space like consolidated mass of spatial consciousness and singing the song of the great Void. Each one of us exists in the great space like individual stars or planets.
- This is why everything in this world is undergoing constant change and disappearing into others. One season changes into another, the seed changes into a plant, the flower into a fruit, and so on. Thus flows eternally the stream of existence, consisting of void and consciousness, form and matter.
-
But why do we, the living beings, float in the great void- Certainly that is the desire of the great void. though we do not know his wishes. But we shall have to accept that the great void takes up different appearances to express his own identity, to manifest himself, and the consequence is the creation of the animate world.
-
Sri Sri Thakur says - Meditate on the void constantly.
