Thakur's Vedic Ideals
- Thakur's Vedic Ideals are based on science, logic, mathematics and tune. He is trying to awaken the inner consciousness of the people, liberating them from superstition and dogma.
- Thakur says that no one is entitled to claim any credit for any invention here. We are all carrier and propagator of the universal truth. Like sun, moon, planets and stars, we are all workers of this great universe.
- Just as the tape recorder is not the singer, we are also not the discoverer of anything. Everything exists here for a purpose. We are a part of the tune of the eternal music and flowing with it.
- Our desire to reveal Nature's truth is also Nature's inherent gift because the object of Nature is to express and reveal her eternal tune to all.
What the Vedas Declare...
- In the Vedic times, each and everybody, be he king or a subject, rich or poor, were associated with the profession of agriculture. Agriculture used to be considered as a holy profession in Vedic period.
- Vedas declared that not a single soul must pass a day without food. There must not be beggary in society. In Vedic age, perfect order was maintained for an equitable food distribution system.
- In the Vedic age, there was no hoarding of food items or anything. The Vedas declared hoarders as evil-doers. They were termed as exploiters and the people were ordered to fight against such evil doers.
- The great knowledge within the great space are the Vedas.
Who is a real Ascetic
Who is a real Sanyaas or an Ascetic? Is he one who only observes religious rites and rituals or ceremonies? What is the necessity of doing so? Why is there a taboo about woman and wealth in the life of an ascetic? We first need to understand the real meaning of the term "sanyaas" or "ascetic"and the method of attaining it. - A real ascetic is one who does not worry about the injunctions of the rules of an ascetic life but concentrates on the objective. The result will depend on his or her will power.
- Maintaining a balance life over the sense organs is an important adjunct to spiritual culture. In this way, whatever is not essential will be automatically shed or given up without any extra effort to get rid of them.
- The rigid rules and myth about an ascetic life, such as leaving your home and worldly life, retiring into dense forest or snow clad mountains for meditation, joining a group of ascetics, etc may give some transient satisfaction and some sort of ecstatic feelings at times, but when the real source of ecstasy is realized, all the mystery is revealed.
- In other words, we are constantly engaged in meditation - in that subtle thought - naturally. With the help of this natural power, we can realize the original eternal state. The mind of that original state still exists and we have not lost it. It has to go back to its origin in any case.
- Our mind is all-pervasive - because origin is ingrained in our body. We are constantly advancing with the help of original power within us. There is no need to worry about renunciation or giving up of all desires. If an ascetic has will power and tenacity to pursue his spiritual goal, no amount of wealth or presence of women can distract him from his path. Real search for truth has nothing to do with shunning of wealth or sex.
- Has anyone really achieved complete abstinence from worldly pleasures? Mind flows through the medium of senses at all times. How can one restrict his or her mind from its normal and natural course?
- Sex exists in all our senses - in sight, smell, taste and sound - and not just in our reproductive organs. How can anyone restrain or control all the senses?
- Whether a seeker is meditating in forest, hills or mountain, he is with all his passions and desires. Even if he were to say, " What a beautiful flower, or "How delicious is the food",all this attraction or excitement is manifestation of sex.
- Hence a true ascetic is one who lives in a balanced state of mind without breaking the nature's limit, tune or measure.
